In 2018, my team and I launched Kukulu, the first mobile game to be released at its scale in Ethiopia. Kukulu went on to win the 2018 Best Entertainment App in Africa Award.
In 2020, my co-founder Samuel and I launched Ethiopia’s first mobile gaming company, Qene Games. One of our most successful games, Gebeta, was acquired by Carry1st in 2022.
In 2023, I co-founded Beemi, a live streaming gamification tool that helps influencers host fun and interactive live streams across multiple platforms such as YouTube, TikTok, and Twitch. Beemi has raised $1.3M in VC funding.
Outside of work, I like to spend my time training and mentoring African software developers and founders, playing Begena (Ethiopian Harp) and guitar, learning foreign languages, dancing salsa, playing chess, and reading books.
